Form Of Tottenham Hotspur Flop Clinton N'Jie Slammed By International Boss

The Cameroonian has been on loan at Ligue 1 side Marseille. Tottenham Hotspur attacker Clinton N’Jie was recently left out of the Cameroon squad for the upcoming Confederations Cup competition in Russia. Now his international boss has given him an ear-bashing in public.

Hugo Broos was quoted by CamFoot as having this to say about the Spurs player, who just spent the season on loan at Marseille:

"Clinton Njie is a special case. Everyone tells me, and I also know, that he is a player with very good qualities. The problem is that he almost never shows his qualities during matches. We saw him at the African Cup. The performance he produced was not at his level. I told him so. He must be aware of his qualities, and be aware that it is not enough. His performances in Marseille were not good too.

“It is not for a matter of indiscipline that Clinton Njie is not summoned. Never believe what social networks say. When we look at what Clinton did in the first game at the CAN, I think he does not deserve to be called now."

N’Jie has simply not impressed his national coach in recent months and that is a feeling Spurs fans will feel mutually with Broos.

Tottenham Hotspur snapped him up in the summer of 2015 from Olympique Lyonnais in a deal worth around £12 million, according to the Telegraph.

But he was allowed to leave in the summer with Georges-Kevin N’Koudou heading in the other direction. However, he has done little to convince Tottenham that he may still have a future at the club.

He started just 11 games in Ligue 1 for Marseille and did not impress fans of the club who will not be sad to see him go this summer.

It will be no surprise if Tottenham do not want to have him back.
