“It feels great to be called to the national team and I am very excited about the call,” said Mudehwe.

“I will try to work hard and serve my country if I get selected. I will try as much as possible to impress the technical team and pay back the faith they have shown in me.”

The former Seke 7 High School student is blessed with pace as he was once an athlete and represented his school in the 4x100m and 4x400m as a sprinter.

Mudehwe has been a revelation at FC Platinum and helped his team lift the CG Msipa Scholarship Trust in a tournament in which he impressed with his goals.

But an injury, during the Independence Cup final against Dynamos, derailed his flying start to life at FC Platinum.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Victor Twaliki has been referred to Harare to see a specialist doctor after his serious injury, while playing for Shabanie, in a league match against Dynamos at Maglas.
